A Life Remembered

A creative and personal alternative to the traditional obituary.

Photographs, letters, documents, stories and personal archives can tell us as much about a life as dates and achievements. A Life Remembered offers an opportunity to create a bespoke record of someone who has died, bringing together memories, images and reflections in a meaningful and lasting form.

Projects may take the form of a printed publication, photographic tribute, life story, memory book or creative archive, developed individually or in collaboration with family and friends.

Participants are invited to draw on personal photographs, letters, keepsakes and shared memories to create something unique. The process is as much about reflection and remembrance as it is about the final outcome.

No two projects are the same. Some may celebrate a life lived, others may preserve family histories for future generations, while some simply provide a space in which stories, memories and photographs can be gathered together and held.

Projects can be created one-to-one, collaboratively with family members, or through future group workshops.

My Story

The idea for A Life Remembered grew from creating remembrance publications for my own parents.

When they died, I found myself wanting something more personal than a traditional obituary or memorial card. Their lives could not be reduced to a standard template, and I wanted to create something that reflected who they were through photographs, stories, memories and design.

Using family photographs, documents and personal archives, I created bespoke publications that celebrated their lives in a way that felt authentic to them.

What began as an act of remembrance became an important part of my own grieving process. The work of selecting images, gathering stories and shaping a narrative was both meaningful and unexpectedly cathartic.

A Life Remembered has grown from that experience. It offers others the opportunity to create a personal tribute that honours a loved one while preserving memories, stories and family histories for future generations.
